Loren and Sherry’s Elegant Calgary Wedding
Sherry and Loren, what can I say. I am so thrilled you two beautiful souls chose me to be a part of your magical and elegant day. The love you have for one another warmed me from the inside out. This was as apparent at our first meeting at Starbucks, to the day of your wedding. I appreciated you trusting me to capture your day without any restraints or long lists of expectations. There was nothing but raw beauty exemplifying family, connection and your love for each other and life, all day through. I hope I exceeded your expectations and that you will treasure these moments in time forever.
The wedding party got ready at the family home in Calgary. This is where we also got the first glimpse of the gorgeous dress that Sherry had made herself. It was absolutely gorgeous and she radiated beauty!
A service draped in love and emotion took place at Red Deer Lake United Church. Sherry’s talented brother and wife, sang and played the saxophone for the ceremony which made for a perfectly personal touch. Frank Sinatra’s ‘Fly me to the Moon’ was playing during their processional as husband and wife.
Guests were then treated to an afternoon of glass plate making by the talented ladies from Infused Glass Works, based out of Calgary Alberta. We spent the afternoon capturing the newly weds using Lake Bonavista and the Peace Bridge as our stunning backdrops.
Modern Steak in Kensington was perfection. The food was outstanding, the location beautiful and the service was impeccable. These two were surrounded by a small, intimate gathering of family and friends, some who had come from as far away as Japan.
We were made to feel so welcomed at your wedding. It was a great feeling as we were asked to seat ourselves amongst your guests and were treated to a fabulous meal while enjoying the company of a lovely couple from Vancouver Island. By the time the night had finished (well for us anyway) we felt as if we were family. It was big hugs all around and well wishes to the happy couple for a fabulous Italian honeymoon.
Loren and Sherry, I wish you two all things wonderful that this life has to offer you. You are so beautiful inside and out. Thank you for welcoming us, trusting us and sharing all that you are with us. I hope I captured the true raw beauty of your love. Until our paths meet again….
